Boston Celtics beat Miami Heat 127-102 to level Eastern Conference finals

Boston Celtics bounced back in style as they won by a massive margin of 127-102 against Miami Heat to level the Eastern Conference finals at 1-1 on Thursday night. The Celtics didn’t have a great start to the match as they were trailing by 10 points but they roared back into the contest to take the first quarter by 35-24.

The Celtics came up with a collective effort as Jayson Tatum top-scored with 27 points, Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown had 24 points apiece. The team’s head coach Ime Udoka was delighted with his side’s performance and feels his players played with a lot of pride after going down in the first game of the series.

“Guys have pride and looked at a golden opportunity that we kind of lost (in Game 1) and thought we could do much better,” Udoka said. “And we did that tonight.”

On the other hand, Miami Heat could not bring their best to the court and their head coach Erik Spoelstra was disappointed after a massive loss. Erik feels his team will have to figure some things out before Game 3 of the series.

“This only count as one,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “That’s what the experienced players in the locker room and staff understand. We don’t like it. They played extremely well. You have two really good teams and we just have to figure some things out.”

Gabe Vincent, who scored 14 points for Miami Heat said the margin of the loss doesn’t matter as a loss is a loss.

“It’s a loss, whether you lose by one or by 20,” Vincent said. “It’s regrouping, go back to the drawing board, and get ready for Game 3.”

Meanwhile, Jimmy Butler top-scored with 29 points for Miami Heat but his efforts went in vain. Butler feels his team needs to be better in the next matches.

“It has to hurt,” Butler said. “They tried to embarrass us. They did embarrass us. … Overall, we just have to be better.”

The third game of the Eastern Conference finals will be played on Saturday in Boston.
