Boston Celtics talisman Jayson Tatum admits that he is trying to recruit Wizards guard Breadley Beal

Boston Celtics have had a disappointing start to their new NBA campaign. They recently lost back to back matches against the Washington Wizards. Despite Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown performing their best, the Celtics have not really found their feet under their new chief coach Ume Udoka.

The Cs started their season with an overtime loss against New York Knicks. They lost again when they faced the Toronto Raptors in their second game. However, the team looked in good space when they redeemed themselves with a win against the Houston Rockets. They followed it up with another win against the in-form Charlotte Hornets. Just when people thought that Tatum and company are getting into the groove, they lost two consecutive matches against the Wizards.

Brown and Tatum were once again superb as they scored a mammoth 61 points combined. But that was not enough to avoid a consecutive defeat against the Washington Wizards. It was a topsy turvy match where it looked like the Celtics taking it home only to allow the Wizards to register their fifth win of the current season.

Bradley Beal was the star for the Wizards as he scored 36 points during his stay on the court and simply turned the games in his team’s favour. He is undoubtedly one of the best guards in the NBA currently and according to reports, Tatum is trying his best to bring him to Boston.

Tatum recently spoke to NBA Boston regarding this topic. He admitted that he likes the idea of pairing up with Beal. When NBC Boston Abby Chin asked Tatum about recruiting Beal, he said, “Yeah. We’ve talked about it plenty of times.”

“I think, more so, just thinking about how cool it would be to play with him. Just how we grew up and how close we are. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about. We didn’t get the opportunity with the USA team, but we did get to play with each other in the all-star game last year, which was a special moment. You know what I mean. Just, like playing in the NBA with your big brother. Who wouldn’t want to do that?”

Tatum also highlighted how Beal is also interested in the idea of playing together. It will be really big if the Celtics manage to pull this deal through. Beal alongside Tatum and other players will immediately propel them to the level of Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets and even the new-look Chicago Bulls.
