Brian Windhorst believes Zion Williamson and the Pelicans are not on the same page on his recovery process

Zion Williamson is easily one of the young superstars to have ever graced the NBA. His power, athleticism and ability to drive the attack is simply sensational. He is currently out injured and has not featured in the 2022 NBA season.

But recent rumours suggest that the New Orleans Pelicans and their young superstar Zion Williamson are not on the same page regarding the youngster’s injury.ESPN’s Brian Windhorst is not the only person to point out the differences between the player and his team. Even Stephen A. Smith also pointed out the fact a few weeks ago.

It is unfortunate as Williamson looked like a great player when fully fit and surely one of the stars of the present and surely of the past. His recovery has been a disaster for both parties, as Brian Windhorst spoke about during a recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show” as he discussed the current season ending for the Pelicans.

“Zion (Williamson) and the team are not on the same page about his recovery despite the fact that he’s had setback after setback after setback that has pretty much wrecked his season.”

Windhorst feels that Williamson has shown enough signs that he could make a comeback at the end of the current season. Therefore the decision now lies with the Pelicans whether they want to play their star for the last few games in the regular season.

Williamson has missed almost the entire season but still, the amount of enthusiasm that he has shown to get fit and again feature for the Pelicans shows how much positivity the entire camp exudes.

“Yesterday, for the second time in three years, his stepfather, who essentially is the lead voice in his um and his in his decision making, gave his second interview in three years and in the interview, in my view, the purpose was to tell people Zion wants to play and so that was sort of round two in applying public pressure to the organization to play Zion.”

New Orleans Pelicans are in a position to make some noise and what else can it be than the return of their no. 1 pick in the current regular season. The Pelicans will play the San Antonio Spurs in the play-ins as they look to get into the playoffs. It can be a great moment for the franchise to bring back their superstar if they feel he is ready to make the run.
