The Chicago Bulls have added another option to their backcourt by signing former New Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins to a two-way contract, the franchise officially announced.
To make room for the 24-year-old shooting guard, Chicago has waived Isaiah Stevens, completing a roster adjustment as the team continues to strengthen its available options.
Hawkins arrives in Chicago after spending the first three seasons of his NBA career with the Pelicans, who selected him with the 14th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds, Hawkins brings NBA experience and outside shooting ability to the Bulls.
Across 174 career NBA appearances, including 20 starts, the Maryland native has averaged 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists while playing 18.2 minutes per game.
He has shot 37.4 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three-point range during his professional career.
Hawkins enjoyed his most productive scoring campaign during the 2024-25 NBA season, when he averaged a career-best 10.8 points per game.
He also established personal single-season records with 604 total points and 110 successful three-pointers while matching his highest rebounding average of 2.8 per contest.
The former Pelicans guard has demonstrated his scoring potential on several occasions, recording 15 games with at least 20 points and twice reaching the 30-point mark.
His highest-scoring NBA performance came against the Dallas Mavericks on January 13, 2024, when he produced an impressive 34-point outing.
Before entering the NBA, Hawkins developed his game at the University of Connecticut, representing the Huskies for two seasons between 2021 and 2023.
He played an important role in Connecticut’s successful 2023 NCAA championship campaign, adding a national title to his achievements before beginning his professional career.
During his college career, Hawkins averaged 11.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 23.2 minutes per game.
His performances earned him several individual honours, including selection to the Big East All-Freshman Team in 2021-22.
He subsequently received All-Big East First Team, NCAA All-Tournament Team and NCAA Tournament All-Region Team recognition during the 2022-23 season.
Hawkins will wear jersey No. 15 for the Bulls as he begins the next chapter of his NBA journey.
With his arrival, Chicago now has three players occupying two-way contract positions, alongside Tobe Awaka and Jaylin Sellers.
The move gives Hawkins a fresh opportunity to establish himself within the Bulls organisation while providing Chicago with additional shooting depth and backcourt flexibility.
