Ja Morant, Zion Williamson headline 2019-20 Kia All-Rookie First Team

The NBA has announced the 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie First Team on Wednesday, and The 2019-20 NBA Rookie of the year winner, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been included in the 2019-20 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year.

100 ballots from a global panel of Sportswriters and broadcasters selected Morant on all ballots of the All Rookies first-team vote.

According to the NBA, other players on the 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie First Team are Miami Heat guard Kendrick Nunn (197 points; 98 First Team votes), Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke (189 points; 92 First Team votes), New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson (176 points; 87 First Team votes) and Golden State Warriors forward Eric Paschall (116 points; 28 First Team votes).

It is the first time since the 2001/2002 NBA season when Pau Gadol and Shane Battier were both selected, that Memphis Grizzlies have more than a player on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

For the first time since the 2008/2009 season, when Michael Beasley was selected, Kendrick Nunn becomes the first Miami Heat player to be selected on the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Heat guard Tyler Herro (115 points), Toronto Raptors guard Terence Davis II (96), Chicago Bulls guard Coby White (90), Charlotte Hornets forward P.J. Washington Jr. (88) and Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura (74) are the players on The 2019-20 NBA All-Rookie Second Team, according to the NBA.

The 2019-20 NBA seeding games, which started on July 30 and August 14 are not considered while voting for the NBA All-Rookie Team as well as the other traditional seasonal awards, but rather, the regular season games were the games that the voting was based on.

Meanwhile, the 2020 NBA Drafts have been rescheduled till November 18, albeit the date is subject to change.
