Phoenix Suns and Kevin Durant have cleared the air that they are truly dedicated to each other despite claims of the Suns trading the superstars, especially after their recent struggles in the ongoing NBA season. The fans have been frustrated with these claims and uncertainties surrounding Durant and the Suns.
There are recent reports of Durant getting frustrated after the Suns lost 128-114 against the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day. Ahead of the Western Conference clash, ESPN reported that Durant is not happy with the team’s underwhelming supporting cast. He is also not happy with Bradley Beal missing so many games.
Following their defeat against the Mavericks, Brandon Jennings on X stated that “Durant should leave the Suns’.This raised more controversy surrounding the superstar and his future with the Suns.
Although Durant is not happy with his team’s performances off late, he dismissed the reports claiming that he wants to play for another team other than the Suns. “I don’t want to get traded,” Durant told Melissa Rohlin of Fox Sports after the team’s 138–111 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. “I’m not frustrated because Brad [Beal] was injured. I wasn’t frustrated because of the role players on the team. That s— really was ignorant to me.”
Durant shared how people expect him to be happy after losing games and once he is frustrated they raise rumours of him not being happy with his team and all. “It’s like, yeah, we lose a game—you think I’m supposed to be happy after we lose a game?” Durant added. “I’m not frustrated with the whole situation. I may be frustrated at the moment, at a bad play or a tough stretch. But nah, I enjoy the grind,” Durant added.
The Suns are currently ranked ninth in the Western Conference as they have an underwhelming 19-18 record. However, Durant is averaging 29.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. Therefore, it is disappointing for him to give his best and still suffer defeats. The Suns have won only five of their last ten games and are currently in a two-game losing streak. They will have to improve drastically to finish in the top half of the Western Conference.
