Lakers contributor Jason Timpf feels Russell Westbrook should be traded away ahead of next season

The Los Angeles Lakers roped in Russell Westbrook ahead of this season and paired him up with Anthony Davis and LeBron James. However, from being title contenders to not qualifying for the playoffs, the Lakers struggled to find wins with AD injured and Westbrook not living up to the billing.

Therefore people already want Westbrook out of the Lakers outfit. All of Lakers Nation , fans and experts are of the same opinion that Westbrook should be headed out of the Purple and Gold army. Recently Lakers contributor Jason Timpf spoke about the issue on ‘Hoops Tonight’ show where he shared the consequences of keeping Russell Westbrook in the team.

Timpf feels that the Lakers should trade away Westbrook claiming that the relationship between the two parties have become toxic. He highlighted how the situation with Westbrook has become sour for the fans, the coach and also the front office.

“The thing with Russ this year was toxic. It was toxic with the fans. It was toxic with the coach. It was toxic with the weird, you know, the weird posturing of clutch sports in the Lakers front office,” Timpf shared.

Russell Westbrook’s attitude in front of the press also raised problems as he never accepted blame after a poor match this season. Timpf claimed that Westbrook’s apologies mean nothing to him as he feels that a trade away for the 33-year-old is a very logical option for all the parties.

“It was toxic with Russ himself in the way that he would go to the press and refuse to accept blame for anything that he did during the entire season. The whole thing was toxic. So I don’t care what Russ says to apologize,” he added.

The 2021-22 season is considered as one of the worst seasons for LeBron James but the Akron Hammer will be back again with the Lakers as he aims to fulfill his dream of winning the Championship yet again.
