LeBron James admits the rough patch that Lakers are going through amid Davis and Schroder’s absence

The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling and they are struggling big time in the current season as they suffered a huge loss against the Utah Jazz. This 114-89 defeat marks the fifth loss for the Lakers in their last six matches. This defeat against the Jazz has been their worst this season and it is evident that LeBron James and his teammates are missing the services of Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder who are sidelined with injuries.

Frank Vogel’s men are going through a bad run of form this season and LeBron James also reiterated the same when he spoke to the media after the match. While James was clear that AD and Schroder’s absence have been big for the team but he did not use it as an excuse. He rather said how it is just a phase and it will be over soon.

“Obviously we all got to do a better job of our individual selves that will carry on to the team. And pick up in AD’s and Dennis’s absence. We just hit a rough patch and it happens throughout the course of the season.”

“You don’t want it to happen, but when it happens it does define character, it challenges you and you just get ready for the bounce back. So you learn from tonight, learn from the previous games and then get ready for the next one,” he went on adding.

The Lakers will have to pull up their socks as the season is entering its business end and the recent losses have seen them fall as low as third in the Western Conference. This is happening to them after they started the season exceptionally well and now with the rough patch continuing to haunt the team and the supporters, they need a source of inspiration and also need to improve.

Anthony Davis’ absence will continue to affect them but if they collectively put their best foot forward under the leadership of LeBron James then the reigning champions have that mental strength and quality to get the better of any team in the league. Also, they cannot allow all the pressure to fall on James as he also needs to take a breather from time to time as he is already playing 36minutes at an average this season. So a lot of things depend on Davis and Schroder returning to the court and the others allowing them that time with improved performances in the upcoming fixtures.
