NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins feels the Lakers are in trouble with Anthony Davis injured but they are in a better position than the Warriors

The Los Angeles Lakers have tried their best to gain momentum but it is the injury concerns that hinder their progress. However the Lakers did grab a win against the Washington Wizards in the absence of their main man Anthony Davis who is out injured. The Lakers won the match 119-117 at the Crypto Arena as the starters for the Lakers all finished with double digits. The fringe players like Lonnie Walker IV scored 21 points whereas Tomas Bryant logged 16 points and 10 rebounds double-double and played a crucial role in the Lakers win.

The Lakers were heavily dependent on Anthony Davis and it was due to his exploits they kept securing wins in November. But now with him out injured the Lakers are once again in a spot of bother. After the win against the Wizards, the Purple and Gold army are 2-2 without Anthony Davis.

Former NBA star and champion with the Celtics, Kendrick Perkins feels that Davis plays a huge role for the Lakers and without him it will be very tough. He understands that the injury will push them back once again as according to him the Lakers don’t have a roster without AD.

“Obviously, they need AD, and we wish him well, but honestly, what were the Lakers doing? I mean, they don’t have the roster right. They don’t have the pieces,” Kendrick Perkins shared his thoughts on the injury. “Unless they were planning on making a move, this is just going to send them back even more.”

He then weighs the possibilities of the Lakers staying afloat as he highlights how LeBron James is playing and how Russell Westbrook and Dennis Schroder are now in form and will play key roles in offense for the Lakers.

“LeBron is going to break the record … Russ has been playing phenomenal, Dennis Schroder, his energy on both ends of the floor has been great, and Thomas Bryant has shown some spurts,” Perkins shared.

While he feels that the team will be up for a very difficult task without AD, he also shared how the Lakers are still in a better condition than the Warriors. “I think they’re going to be okay. I think that they’re going to stay afloat around that .500 range until AD gets back. I think they’re in a better position than the Warriors.”

Anthony Davis is like the glue that held the team together and also scored an insane amount of points and played a great role in even defending the rim. But with no replacement present the Lakers will have to divide the roles among the players present and try to stay afloat for the time being.
