NBA: Curry Faces Minutes Limit as Warriors Enter Do-or-Die Play-In Clash

The Golden State Warriors will head into their crucial play-in showdown against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night with a major constraint: limited minutes for their talisman, Stephen Curry.

Curry, a four-time NBA champion and 12-time All-Star, is still being carefully managed after returning from a lengthy 27-game absence due to a right knee injury. Head coach Steve Kerr confirmed that the veteran guard will continue to play under restrictions, with insiders suggesting his game time will likely be capped at around 32 minutes.

The 38-year-old has not exceeded 29 minutes in any of his four appearances since making his comeback. Despite the limitation, Curry has shown flashes of his trademark brilliance. In the Warriors’ regular-season finale—a narrow 115-110 loss to the Clippers—he logged 24 points on efficient shooting, along with six rebounds and three assists.

Golden State enters the play-in tournament as the 10th seed with a 37-45 record, making them the only team in the bracket with a losing season record. The path ahead is steep: they must defeat the Clippers on the road in Inglewood and then overcome the winner of the clash between the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers to clinch the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Curry’s presence, even in limited minutes, remains central to the Warriors’ hopes. The two-time MVP averaged 26.6 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds over 43 games this season, continuing to perform at an elite level deep into his 17th NBA campaign.

Off the court, Curry’s popularity remains unmatched. The league recently confirmed that he topped jersey sales for the 2025–26 regular season, finishing ahead of Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks.

As the Warriors prepare for a win-or-go-home battle, the challenge will be balancing Curry’s health with the urgency of the moment. With their season hanging by a thread, Golden State will need maximum efficiency from their star in limited time—and a collective effort from the rest of the roster to keep their playoff hopes alive.
