NBA expert Colin Cowherd believes Milwaukee Bucks talisman Giannis Antetokounmpo is the next face of the NBA

The hot topic in the NBA always revolves around the debate oif who is the best player in the league. Currently the debate revolves around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kevin Durant. WHile many people want to stick with the original gangster in Durant, many fans feel the Greek Freak is the more complete player and more dominant in every sense.

Antetokounmpo had seen a lot of struggle before he could make it to the NBA and flourish like he has done in the last few years. At 27 he has already won everything. He guided his team, Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA Championship after 50 years. So it is natural that people will vouch for him and give their vote to him as the current best player in the league.

In 2020, Giannis became the MVP and also the league Defensive player of the year, a feat that was only achieved by Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon. So it speaks volumes about his greatness as a player.

Ranking the top 20 NBA Players in the last 20 years, NBA expert COlin Cowherd ranked Giannis Antetokounmpo ninth in the list. Cowherd shared that despite featuring in the league for eight years, Giannis Antetokounmmpo still makes it to the list which is filled with NBA greats.

“He’s so great, he missed the first eleven years of our timeline and still makes it,” Cowherd stated. “A champ and a Finals MVP, his 50 points to win the title last year are the most ever in close out final game in league history.”

The debate of being the next face of the NBA have centered around Durant and Antetokounmpo whereas players like Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic have also staked their claims with some great performances in the last few years.

Cowherd feels that after Lebron, Giannis is all set to be the new face of the league as he has brought the Championship to a smaller market like Milwaukee.He also calls him the best defensive player in the game right now.

“Giannis was able to bring a championship to small market Milwaukee,” Cowherd said. “The last player to do that was the great Lew Alcindor.

“Currently in the league, he’s usually the offensive closer and best defensive player in the game. Giannis’ body and game are completely unique. He’s out new LeBron,” he concluded.
