Steph Curry believes that Klay Thompson’s return will elevate the entire Golden State Warriors roster

The Golden State Warriors were a Championship winning team not too long ago. They still have the same coach in Steve Kerr and their talisman in Steph Curry. However, their performances have not been great. The Warriors failed to qualify for the playoffs last season after they lost their play-ins against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite the team underperforming massively and the roster turning average, Curry has always been their saving light. The Chef has been exceptional for the franchise over the years and he will continue to do so even in the upcoming season.

The main thing that should change this time is the support that he will get. With Klay Thompson back after two seasons, Curry in prime form and with Jordan Poole showing signs of a big season, the Warriors look like a force to reckon with.

It was back in 2019 when Thompson played for the last time for the Warriors. Since then, Curry has single handedly carried the load of the entire team. He has missed his partner in crime and that has led to the poor string of results for Steve Kerr’s men.

Thompson limped off in the 2019 Finals and despite his best efforts of coming back to the court he could. He was sidelined for a considerable amount of time. While he was on the verge of coming back last season, he tore his Achilles during the offseason which resulted in him missing the last campaign. It left the Warriors shorthanded as Curry missed his partner in attack.

The Warriors management will be eager to have him back in action again. His return will strengthen the attack and also raise the morale of a new look Warriors team filled with talented young players.

Curry is very hopeful with GSW’s chances this season especially with Klay’s return. Apart from Klay Thompson, the Dub Nation fans will be excited to see the return of Andre Iguodala this season.

“I think just what Warriors basketball is and how you’ve seen us play for years on in, it’ll be an evolution of that,” said Steph on the team’s aspirations, in an interview with The Athletic. “And then when Klay gets back, it’s just a matter of figuring out what our rotation is, and understanding that he’s going to take us to another level. We’ve got like three seasons in one.”

With Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala return to the Chase Center, the Warriors are high on confidence ahead of a new season. The fans will want the warriors to return to their previous form.
