Stephen Curry’s 56-Point Masterclass Propels Warriors Past Magic

Stephen Curry delivered a vintage performance, draining 12 three-pointers and scoring a season-high 56 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 121-115 victory over the Orlando Magic. The electrifying display not only extended the Warriors’ winning streak to five games but also served as yet another reminder of Curry’s unrivalled shooting prowess.

The 36-year-old guard was in sublime form, particularly during a blistering third quarter where he single-handedly outscored the Magic 22-21. His hot hand and relentless scoring gave the Warriors the upper edge in a tightly-contested game.

One of the standout moments came just before halftime, when Curry launched a sensational buzzer-beater from well inside his own half, sending the Chase Center crowd into a frenzy. The audacity and precision of the shot encapsulated the essence of Curry’s game — a combination of fearless creativity and unmatched shooting skill.

Curry’s 56 points came on just 25 shot attempts, making his performance not just prolific, but also remarkably efficient. According to NBA records, only James Harden has scored 55 or more points in fewer attempts — 24 shots during a 2019 game for the Houston Rockets.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was full of praise for his star player after the game. “I think the fans here tonight, even the Magic fans, they know they’re witnessing the greatest shooter ever, and one of the greatest performers ever,” Kerr said. “It’s not just the shots going in, it’s just the fluidity, the beauty of his movement and motion and his audacity, the shots that he’s willing to take. He’s an incredible performer and he put on quite a show tonight.”

This marks the third time Curry has hit at least 12 three-pointers in a single game, a feat no other player in NBA history has achieved so frequently. His personal best of 13 threes came in 2016 against the New Orleans Pelicans. While his 56 points fell short of his career-high 62, scored against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021, it was still a timely reminder of his brilliance as the Warriors push for playoff positioning.

The win lifts Golden State’s spirits as they continue to find form in the latter half of the season. For Curry, it was another night of rewriting record books and thrilling fans, reaffirming why he is widely regarded as the greatest shooter the game has ever seen.
