Trail Blazers Cruise Past Timberwolves with Dominant 111-84 Summer League Victory

The Portland Trail Blazers delivered one of the most convincing performances of the 2026 NBA Summer League on Monday, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-84 at Thomas & Mack Center. Portland controlled the contest from start to finish, winning every quarter by at least five points and never allowing Minnesota to mount a serious comeback.

The Trail Blazers built steady momentum throughout the game and entered the fourth quarter holding a commanding 22-point advantage. They maintained a comfortable double-digit lead throughout the entire second half, showcasing efficiency on both ends of the floor.

Portland’s offense clicked consistently, shooting 52 percent from the field while connecting on 31 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc. Defensively, the Trail Blazers limited Minnesota to 40 percent shooting overall and just 21 percent from three-point range. They also capitalized on mistakes, outscoring the Timberwolves 18-1 in points off turnovers and holding a 17-6 edge in fast-break scoring.

Chris Youngblood led Portland’s balanced attack with 20 points, five rebounds and three assists. Yang Hansen turned in another eye-catching all-around performance, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while producing several highlight plays. Quincy Olivari added 11 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals, while Jaylen Martin provided a strong lift off the bench with 14 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Minnesota, now 1-2 in Summer League play, was paced by Donovan Williams, who scored 21 points while adding two rebounds and two assists. Zyon Pullin contributed a productive all-around effort with 16 points, four rebounds, 10 assists and two steals. Rocco Zikarsky recorded 18 points and six rebounds, while Trey Kaufman-Renn chipped in 10 points and six rebounds to lead the Timberwolves’ bench.

Despite solid individual performances, Minnesota struggled to match Portland’s intensity and efficiency for long stretches. The Timberwolves were unable to overcome the Trail Blazers’ defensive pressure, transition scoring and control of the game’s tempo.

The victory improves Portland’s Summer League record to 1-2 and provides momentum heading into its next outing. The Trail Blazers will face the Denver Nuggets on Thursday at 10 p.m. ET. Minnesota, also sitting at 1-2, will look to bounce back when it takes on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Both games will be available on Prime Video.
