Paul says no backup opponent for Tyson Fight

Jake Paul has confirmed that there is currently no backup fighter in place for his upcoming bout against boxing legend Mike Tyson, scheduled for November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This decision comes after the fight was initially postponed due to Tyson suffering from an ulcer flare-up earlier this year.

Paul, who holds a professional record of 10 wins and 1 loss, expressed confidence in Tyson’s health, stating, “I don’t have a concern. He’s doing great. He’s super healthy behind the scenes and feeling great”.

Despite the concerns surrounding Tyson’s age—he is 58 years old—and his long absence from professional boxing, Paul remains optimistic. He emphasized that he is focused on preparing for the fight and believes Tyson is in peak condition. Paul noted, “A pro-fight means war, and I don’t take it lightly. You can get seriously hurt or injured in there. So, if you’re not in there to go to war, then you should just get out. “

The lack of a backup fighter has raised eyebrows among boxing analysts and fans, especially given the uncertainty surrounding Tyson’s health. However, Paul insists that he is ready to face Tyson and is not considering alternative plans at this time. He acknowledged the potential risks of the match, stating that if fighters are not prepared to engage fully, they should reconsider stepping into the ring.

The 27-year-old has also vowed to “prove all the haters wrong” as he has resolved not to be intimidated by all the comments that have been made concerning his odds.

Paul acknowledged that Tyson is everything people have said about him, but he is not deterred: “All the people in my comments say, ‘look at his power. He’s going to get KO’d.’ This has taken a chance to fight somebody as vicious as Mike can be. You got to risk it for the biscuit. That’s the name of the game. I’m here to make history. I’m here for a challenge.”
