Fans for Arsenal and Tottenham applauded Bukayo Saka as the forward came back to action on the pitch after a tough Euro 2020 outing with England.
Fans greeted Saka with applause as the Tottenham-heavy group made sure to improve on the ton set by other fanatics earlier this summer.
Saka was at the wrong end of racism and hatred following his penalty kicks vs Italy in Wembley last month.
He, along with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, received quite a bit of verbal and social media-abuse following that loss vs Italy.
Police have arrested 11 individuals so far, reportedly.
“There is no place for racism or hate of any kind in football or in any area of society,” Saka said via social media.
Tottenham fans were shown to have a banner saying, “North London stands with Bukayo Saka and all players against racism and discrimination.”
Arsenal won 1-0 over Tottenham in a pre-season match.
Ben White made his first start for Arsenal. Hotspurs coach Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed he hopes to speak to Kane early this upcoming week.
Harry Kane was not in the lineup for Tottenham.
“I didn’t speak today because today was a match but we have a training session tomorrow,” Santo said. “Hopefully, socially distanced, I will speak with Harry.”
