Arteta reveals Thomas Partey’s return to Arsenal’s squad – Football

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is available for selection for the Gunners ahead of Monday’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United.

Arsenal has been without the Ghanaian midfielder since October, but a return is a big boost for the team, which also got some players back from the treatment table this week in a delicate period of the title race.

Arsenal are third on the Premier League table and just two points behind league leaders Liverpool and Manchester City. They will certainly be happy to have one of their star midfielders return to the starting lineup.

Arteta, in an interview on Thursday, revealed that the player has been able to complete three consecutive sessions, and we will be part of this Monday’s fixture.

Partey will give his team stability and unpredictability going forward in the Premier League title race against Liverpool and Manchester City, and Arteta welcomes the input of fresh legs.

“Yeah, Thomas had a session before the last game, and now he’s done two or three consecutive sessions. He should be part of the squad on Monday. Unpredictability is one thing. Then depth because we don’t know what’s going to happen, and we’re going to have a lot of games. Freshness, more competition in the squad, the capacity to change games when the scenario is on our side and when we’re chasing games. That’s something that is going to be critical,” Arteta said.

Match day 27 fixtures of the Premier League will start this Saturday with Chelsea traveling to Brentford in a London derby while Liverpool travels to Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace. It is another London derby that will happen on Saturday, but the biggest game of the round comes on Sunday when Manchester City host Manchester United.
