Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele Ruled Out For Six Months

Barcelona has been handed an injury blow as French Forward Ousmane Dembele, and it has been confirmed, will be out of action for six months.

Dembele underwent surgery for his torn Hamstring on Tuesday in Turku Finland by Doctor Lasse Lempainen, and the club released a statement stating that while the surgery on the ruptured hamstring was successful with a time frame of six months as the recovery time.

However, the Catalunya club can bring in a player so far the Spanish Football Federation make ratifications on the French Forward’s medical report.

According to the rules of the RFEF, should a player be injured and out for a minimum of 5 months, such a player’s club will be able to bring in a new signing outside the transfer period.

However, this comes with a clause that the player should be based in the top two Spanish Divisions or probably an unattached player.

Also, such an injured player will not be eligible to feature for his side until the 5-month interval has passed and must also be in agreement with the signing of the new player.

Dembele’s latest injury is the tenth injury in three years since he joined Barcelona from Dortmund in a fee in the region of 105 Million Euros.

Hamstring problems have been a disturbance to Dembele’s Barcelona career as he sat out of his first five months of his first season at the club after having surgery on his left leg hamstring.

This season his first Hamstring issue started when he hurt his right leg in a UEFA Champions League game against his former club.

Barcelona currently are three points away from Real Madrid on the La Liga table and will play Getafe next, and they won their last game 3-2 against Real Betis.
