Bologna have lined up two options to replace striker Dan Ndoye as Napoli reached an advanced stage of negotiation for Switzerland international.
Napoli are aiming to reinforce their attack and hoping to close an agreement for Switzerland international soon.
Latest reports from Italy indicate that his current club, Bologna, has already begun seeking potential replacements.
Ndoye scored eight goals and recorded four assists in 30 Serie A games for Bologna last season.
His solitary striker secured the Coppa Italia trophy for the club against AC Milan.
As Napoli ami to seal an agreement for Ndoye soon, the two clubs have held direct talks over the last few days, and the Partenopei could find an agreement with the club soon.
Bologna’s original asking price for the striker is €40m. The Rossoblu are coming off an encouraging first campaign under Vincenzo Italiano.
With next season in sight, they are beginning to look at potential alternatives in the event that the striker leaves.
Bologna’s first choice is 20-year-old AZ Alkmaar winger Ruben van Bommel, the son of former PSV, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel.
The youngster stands has netted 10 Eredivisie goals from his first 55 appearances in the competition. The 6.2 ft winger also scored three goals from five outings in this season’s Europa League.
According to Football Italia, there has been contact between the relevant parties over the last few hours as van Bommel wait to see what developments might unfold later in the transfer window.
In case they fail to seal a deal for van Bommel, Bologna will try their second option, Patrick Wimmer from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
The 24-year-old Austria international is also a winger who can play on either flank, like Ndoye. He had eight goal involvements in all competitions last season from the German club last term.
