Bournemouth’s Iraola bemoans tough week after EFL Cup win

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has said his team will take their games one by one as they another tough fixture in the Premier League this weekend as Arsenal visit the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Quick-fire goals from Dominic Solanke and Joe Rothwell get them past championship side Stoke City 2-0 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, which has set them on a path to face Liverpool in the next round of the competition.

However, despite the potentiality of success in the Carabao Cup for the Cherries if they continue their winning streak in the competition, manager Andoni Iraola is more focused on taking each game one step at a time as they come.

“I think you have to take it game to game, obviously, But in this kind of competition, I think it’s good for the motivational side to think, okay, we can win four games, you play the semi-finals, and it’s very difficult to play a cup semi-final. They are not easy games. We’ve won two. We still have another two to play in the semi-finals. But you have to try every single year because, at the end of your career, you remember these kinds of things. It is a difficult week for us because it’s just three games in six days, and we needed some fresh legs, some players also to recover a little bit for Saturday,” said Iraola.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth would shift their attention to the Premier League this Saturday as Arsenal visit the Vitality Stadium. The Gunners got a 1-0 victory over Brentford in the Carabao Cup, and they will face West Ham United in the next round.
