Brazil getting set for Ghana friendly, eyes 14-game unbeaten run

The Brazilian national team will file out against the Black Stars of Ghana on Saturday in an international friendly as both teams prepare for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in November.

Brazil will hope to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games, with their last loss coming in the 1-0 loss to Argentina in the Copa America final in the summer of 2021.

Brazilian national team coach Tite called up 26 players for the friendly but didn’t call up the three Brazilians playing for Premier League table-toppers Arsenal.

These three include Gabriel Jesus, defender Gabriel Magalhaes and forward Gabriel Martinelli despite all three having had a good start to the season with Gabriel Jesus scoring and Martinelli featuring consistently as Arsenal gathered 15 points from a possible 18 from 6 matches so far this season.

However, Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr is set to play a part, as well as Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Richarlison.

After the clash with Ghana, Brazil will then face Tunisia a few days later while Ghana, on the other hand, will hope to feature they are new call-ups who switched international allegiance from several countries to Ghana.

Some of them include Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao and Tariq Lamptey. Ghana’s World Cup opponents include Uruguay, Portugal, and South Korea in Group H.

Brazil will face Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon in the world cup.
