Liverpool Beat Arsenal To Continue 100% Record

English Premier League champions Liverpool continued their perfect start to the 2020-2021 season with an impressive 3-1 victory against Arsenal at the Anfield stadium on Monday evening.

The game saw Arsenal chasing their first away win at the Anfield since 2012 while also trying to keep their winning streak intact after winning their first two matches of the season.

Arsenal opened the scoring against the run of play in the 25th minute through Alexander Lacazette, who benefitted from a Robertson mistake at the back.

A few minutes later, Senegalese forward Sadio Mane poked home after Bernd Leno pushed Salah’s shot into his path.

Robertson then redeemed himself in the 34th minute, making use of the free space and time to chest down a Trent Arnold’s cross and put it beyond Bernd Leno in goal.

The lead lasted into the second half, which started slowly as both sides continued to press for goals. It was former Wolves striker Diogo Jota who scored 2 minutes from times to seal Jurgen Klopp’s third win in the season.

Alex Lacazette should have equalized for the Gunners late on, but he could only shoot tamely at Alisson before Jota’s goal.

Liverpool are now 2nd behind Leicester City, who top based in goals difference while Arsenal drops to fifth.

Earlier on Monday, Fulham lost their third straight game of the season after losing 3-0 to Aston Villa at the Craven Cottage.

Jack Grealish opened the scoring in just the 4th minute of the game with Conor Hourihane, making it two 11 minutes later.

The third goal came just after the restart with Tyrone Mings getting on the scoresheet from a free-kick.

It masks a poor start for Fulham who just got promoted, conceding 10 goals in just three matches while Aston Villa has won six out of their last 8 Premier League games, an unbeaten record which stretches back to last season.
