Liverpool Goalkeeper Alisson Becker Emerges as Flamengo Transfer Target Amid Contract Uncertainty

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has reportedly attracted interest from Brazilian giants Flamengo, who are considering an ambitious move for the experienced shot-stopper ahead of the 2027 summer transfer window.

The 34-year-old Brazilian international is approaching the final stages of his Liverpool contract, raising questions about his long-term future at Anfield.

Liverpool activated a one-year extension clause in March, ensuring Alisson remains under contract until June 2027. However, without another agreement, the goalkeeper could become available on a free transfer next summer.

According to Sport Witness, Flamengo officials have held serious internal discussions about the possibility of bringing Alisson back to Brazilian football.

The Rio de Janeiro club reportedly view his experience, reputation and proven abilities at the highest level as qualities that could significantly strengthen their squad.

However, Flamengo’s management remains divided over whether pursuing the Liverpool goalkeeper would represent a sensible investment.

While some senior figures believe Alisson would be an outstanding signing, others have expressed reservations about his age and recent performances for the Brazilian national team.

Financial considerations could also become a major obstacle.

Flamengo are reportedly facing budgetary challenges ahead of next season, potentially limiting their ability to complete high-profile signings.

Even if Alisson becomes available without a transfer fee, matching his substantial salary expectations could prove difficult for the Brazilian club.

Another complication involves the goalkeeper’s strong emotional connection with Internacional, where he developed through the youth academy before establishing himself in European football.

Alisson has previously spoken about his desire to represent his boyhood club again, making Internacional a natural destination should he decide to return to Brazil.

However, Internacional’s current struggle to avoid relegation could influence his future options.

According to the report, some Flamengo officials believe Internacional dropping into the second division would improve their own chances of securing Alisson’s signature.

Such a setback could weaken Internacional financially and make it harder for the club to offer the goalkeeper a competitive contract.

For now, Liverpool remain in a comfortable position, with their first-choice goalkeeper tied down until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

There is no indication that an agreement has been reached between Flamengo and Alisson, and the Brazilian club have yet to make a formal move.

Nevertheless, the uncertainty surrounding his next contract could make the coming months crucial in determining whether the experienced goalkeeper continues his Liverpool career or prepares for a return to his homeland.
