Milan open talks with Man United for Hojlund

AC Milan have held talks with Manchester United for Rasmus Hojlund, following the imminent arrival of Benjamin Sesko.

However, new reports have suggested that the asking price is far more than previously thought.

RB Leipzig recently reached an agreement with Man United for the Slovenian international.

Before the talks, the Rossoneri had already turned their attention to Hojlund, before the Red Devils reached an agreement with the Bundesliga side.

This could pave the way for the Danish striker, whose first season at Old Trafford has been underwhelming.

According to reports, Sesko is already in England to complete his medicals. He is expected to be officially a Man United player by the weekend and could be in contention to face Arsenal for the season opener next Saturday.

According to the British media, the deal is worth a reported €76.5m plus €8.5m in easy-to-achieve add-ons, taking the total package to €85m.

Having spent such a huge amount,  United are left with no choice but to bring in fresh funds from the sale of Hojlund.

However, the fee could be a problem for Milan as the English giant want €46m, rather than the previously rumoured €30-35m.

According to talkSPORT,  Milan want a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season, which again might not be what Manchester United can accept.

United paid a whopping €77.8m plus a further €9.9m in add-ons to purchase the 22-year-old from Atalanta in the summer of 2023.

It’s now left to see how this will pan out with the summer transfer window nearing its end.

Milan already sold Alvaro Morata and will therefore need a reinforcement in their attacking department ahead of the season.

They had Tammy Abraham on loan last summer, but could not make the deal permanent, and the English striker had already joined Besiktas from his parent club, AS Roma.
