Odegaard: Arsenal is focused and taking games one by one

Arsenal continued their title chase with a 3-0 victory away from home at London neighbors Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday. The win extended their lead to five points on the table after Manchester City got a 1-0 victory on Saturday away from home at Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The three points gained and the victory is not the only motivating factor for Arsenal, who also saw the return of their top striker Gabriel Jesus from injury.

After last weekend’s last Cup winner from real’s Nelson industry to win over Bournemouth and midweek stew to draw against sporting Lisbon in Portugal in the UEFA Europa League, Arsenal took matters into their hands early in the first half and got into the lead in the 21st minute through defender Gabriel.

The Gunners doubled their advantage in the 26th minute through Gabriel Martinelli, who had a goal disallowed for offside earlier in the game. Arsenal made it 3-0 before the halftime whistle as Martin Odegaard also got on the scoresheet.

While talking after the game, the Norwegian international and Arsenal skipper spoke of the introduction of Gabriel Jesus, who returned from an injury layoff and described it as a boost for the team toward their title charge.

“It’s a massive boost. He’s been out for a while now. We know what he’ll give to the team. We’re excited to have him back. Same focus. We’ve said all season we’ll take it game by game. We’ll do the same things, keep working hard and see where it takes us.” Odegaard said.

One of the key players for Arsenal on the night was a 21 million pound signing from Brighton, Leandro Trossard, who had a hat-trick of assists and became the first player since Santi Cazorla in 2013 to have a hat-trick of assists and a hat-trick of goals in a single season.
