Paul Pogba close to Juventus return

French midfielder Paul Pogba is close to returning to Juventus once he exits Manchester United in the summer. Pogba’s contract at the Old Trafford expires this summer, and will leave after failing to sign a contract extension.

One of his suitors is his old side Juventus who are approaching him with a 4-year contract. Meanwhile, reports also say that the player is also open to a move to another side, with French club PSG also interested in the 2018 World Cup winner.

Pogba spent four years with Juventus between 2012 and 2016 when he returned to the Old Trafford with Manchester United.

However, there is a possibility of a move to Manchester City with Pep Guardiola approaching the player with discussions on contracts held with a shock bid.

The 2018 World Cup winner said that his 2016 move back to Old Trafford was the right move that he has always dreamt of.

Similarly, the manager at the heart of the deal, Jose Mourinho, revealed that the midfielder will be at the focal point of the team’s progress for at least the following ten years.

However, his second coming has been quite forgettable, with just the UEFA Europa League and Carabao Cup in 2017 the only trophies he has won at the club.

The 29-year-old had around 124 appearances for the Old Ladies in four years with 28 goals, but he has only managed a bit over 150 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 29 goals in 6 years at Old Trafford.

Pogba won the FIFA World Cup in Russia with the French national team as well as the UEFA Nations League 2021, albeit he failed to get past Portugal at the Euro 2016.

In the 2021/2022 Premier League season, Pogba played 20 games scoring a single goal and making nine assists.
