PSG beat Real Madrid, to face Chelsea in Club World Cup final

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) thrashed Real Madrid 4-0 in the semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup, earning a spot in the final against Chelsea. The match, played at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, saw PSG dominate from start to finish.

Fabian Ruiz scored twice in the first half, while Ousmane Dembele and Goncalo Ramos added to the scoreline in the 9th minute and 87th minute, respectively.

The European champions were ruthless in front of goal, with Ruiz’s calm finish in the 6th minute setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Dembele doubled the lead just three minutes later, and Ruiz scored his second goal of the game in the 24th minute. Real Madrid struggled to create chances, and PSG’s defense held strong to keep a clean sheet.

Former Tottenham midfielder Andros Townsend praised PSG’s performance, saying it was an “absolute masterclass” and highlighting the team’s calmness in front of goal.

The win sets up a final against Chelsea, who defeated Fluminense 2-0 in the other semifinal. The final match will take place on Sunday, July 13, at 20:00 BST.

Real Madrid’s loss was a significant one, with the team looking disjointed and struggling to cope with PSG’s pace and skill.

Luka Modrić, the long-serving midfielder, is reportedly leaving the club after 13 years, and the game may have been his last for Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, had a quiet game, sparking criticism from some fans.

The attendance at the MetLife Stadium was impressive, with nearly 80,000 spectators packing the venue to witness the blockbuster clash.

PSG’s victory was a statement of intent, and they will be confident of winning their first Club World Cup title. PSG’s next match is the Club World Cup final against

Chelsea and fans are eagerly anticipating the game. Some Spurs fans are already dreading their team’s upcoming match against PSG in the Super Cup on August 13.
