PSG eyeing Wilfred Ndidi

Some unconfirmed reports have said Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

Since joining the Foxes from a Belgian side, Genk, Ndidi has continued to produce top-class displays most of the time he is in action.

The Nigerian international has won the player of the year at King Power Stadium twice. Surprisingly, he even won the award in his first season at the club despite joining during a winter transfer window.

Ndidi, who is also an important player in the Nigerian national team, is considered a class above many of the midfield options currently available for the French giants.

This could be the reason Paul Scholes, who has been a fan of the midfielder, is urging his former team, Manchester United, to fortify their midfield with him.

2021/22 Ligue 1 winners are looking forward to winning their first Champions League title. Having one of the most feared forward might not be enough as they will need top-class addition in the midfield and defense.

Ndidi is still nursing a knee injury that has kept him out of action since March. He remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the English Premier League.

Not the best passer of the ball, but Ndidi can offer PSG solidity in the middle of the pack. Also, only a few players can match his ball tackling, interception, and recovery stats.

Ndidi is a 25-year-old who is believe to be an upgrade on Danilo Pereira, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ander Herrera, and Idrissa Gueye. , The former Genk man would be a perfect partner for Italian midfielder Marco Verratti.

Some pundits believe that if the 25-year-old joined the Paris club, he would be better than any midfielder at PSG, barring Verratti. He will be given the task of winning the ball while Verratti pulls the strings in midfield for PSG.

With the imminent departure of Nemanja Matic to AS Roma,  Manchester United will be in desperate need of a defensive midfielder.

Both teams will have to slug it out for his signature as he currently has two years left on his contract.

Ndidi joined Leicester City from Genk in January 2017 for €17.60 million.
