Thomas Tuchel cites loss of concentration after defeat to Southampton

The Blues have been inconsistent in the new Premier League season, having lost one, drawn one, and won two before Tuesday’s clash with the Saints.

Former Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling, who scored a brace in their last game, a 2:1 victory against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, opened the scoring at Saint Mary’s on Tuesday evening in the 23rd minute.

Romeo Lavia and Adam Armstrong equalized against Chelsea in the 28th minute and before halftime, respectively. Overall, it wasn’t a result that pleased Thomas Tuchel.

“We lose concentration, we lose our plan, and we lose consistency. It is too easy to beat us. A lot of key players are injured. It is something I don’t understand. You can always lose football matches, and I am humble enough to admit this, but in a match where you are in the lead, there is no need to give away half chances. To have no answers in the second half was disappointing,” Tuchel said.

Meanwhile, Aleksandar Mitrovic was in action as Fulham beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1. Also, in other games, Wilfried Zaha scored as Crystal Palace were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford.

Leeds United and Everton played out a 1-1 stalemate but Wednesday’s match Fixtures shadow men’s that’s five Premier League games to be played, and someone of them includes Arsenal, Houston Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

Bournemouth only a few hours ago sacked manager Scott Parker after their 9-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool. The Cherries will now play with the assistant manager performing on an interim basis against Wolves at the Vitality Stadium.

Manchester City will host newcomers Nottingham Forest, West Ham United will play against Tottenham, and Liverpool will engage Newcastle all on Wednesday.
