Tottenham interested in Barcelona midfielder as negotiations for Harry Kane continue

Bayern Munich’s pressure on Tottenham for striker Harry Kane seems to be yielding the desired results after both clubs met on Monday to continue negotiations for the 30-year-old striker.

Harry Kane has a year left on his contract at the Tottenham Stadium, but Bayern Munich has, despite insistence by Daniel Levy not to sell the player, getting a lead way.

The latest Bayern Munich bid is a club record £80 million offer for the striker who is Tottenham’s record goal scorer. After the discussions on Monday, there was at least a £25 million difference in the two club’s valuation of the player.

Now it seems Tottenham seems ready to lose Harry Kane as they intend to bring in a couple of players after the departure of the English forward.

The German club is ready to pay about club-record 80m euro (£68m) for the striker, and it seems that Spurs are to take proceeds from the sale to get possible replacements and investments after the exit of Kane.

The Lily Whites are said to be interested in Barcelona’s Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie from Barcelona and 28-year-old France defender Clement Lenglet. Tottenham are also eyeing Nottingham Forest’s £50m-rated Wales forward Brennan Johnson.

Harry Kane is Tottehnam’s record scorer, but he has not been satisfied enough with personal glory as the 30-year-old look to get his hands on a collective title. While the England forward does not believes he can do that at Tottenham, chairman Daniel Levy believes that he doesn’t leave need to leave the club before he can win a trophy.

“He can absolutely win a trophy at Spurs, but being a legend is also important. The fact that he’s the top scorer for Tottenham Hotspur, he’s making history. I hope one day there is a statue of Harry Kane outside our stadium.” Levy said.

PSG, Real Madrid, and Manchester United have also been interested in the English forward.
