Juventus manager Igor Tudor says his side has what it takes to win the Italian Scudetto.
The former Marseille boss will face Inter Milan in the Serie A derby at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin on Saturday at 17:00 UK time (16:00 GMT).
While stating that the Bianconerri can obviously win the Scudetto this season, the tactician said the showdown with Inter is worth more than three points.
Speaking with DAZN Italia ahead of the Derby d’Italia, Tudor said it is easier for him to prepare for these matches, being a top game.
Tudor further describes the Nerazzurri as a great team with already mature and experienced players.
He added that Juventus will have their moment in the game as they want to focus on their strengths and then work on their weaknesses.
“At the end of the day, we’ll see who does better,” he stated.
Inter and Napoli have been tipped as the likely contenders for the Serie A title, but Tudor insists they should not rule out the Old Lady.
His reason was that his team could fight to win the title, which is part of his objectives.
He revealed that they had a steamy discussion at the start of the season in which he talked about the possibility of winning the league, adding that he then closed the door and not to talk about it again.
“I only talk about concrete things; you have to achieve results, not talk about them.”
Speaking on Dusan Vlahovic, who almost left the team this summer, and he is entering the final year of his contract, Tudor said he has been welcomed back into the squad and expects him to add value to the squad.
Describing his contractual situation as unusual, the manager said the 25-year-old striker is still maturing as a person.
“His best years are ahead of him; he’s not even halfway through his career. He found the strength to concentrate in a super difficult moment. I try to give him love when he needs love, and punishment when he needs that.”
On youngster Kenan Yildiz, he said the attacker does everything he needs to do and has the characteristics of a top player.
The difference is made by the motivation you have every day, and Yildiz is proving he has that. He has everything it takes to be a top player.
