2021 T20 World Cup Update

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is currently underway and already it is clear that we are going to have a good tournament. All 16 teams are present and the games so far have been interesting to watch. One of the most prestigious events in the cricket world, the T20 World Cup is expected to hold for for about a month. This year’s edition of the event began about a week ago but it seems like a lot has happened since then.

England continues to maintain a clean sheet after winning their first two opening matches at the tournament. They secured their first victory, against West Indies, over the weekend and defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets on Wednesday. With some of the big names present in the squad, England has gone on to dominate Group 1. Their next match is this Saturday against Australia. Australia has also had a good start to the competition after they defeated South Africa by five wickets over the weekend.

Namibia is another country that has had a good start at this event. They have defeated the Netherlands and Ireland, and they beat Scotland by four wickets on Wednesday. We wait to see how much fight they have left in them when they face Afghanistan on Sunday. Also, this is the farthest they have come in any international event

Pakistan has won two out of two matches and they look forward to their third match when they face Afghanistan on Friday.

Sri Lanka has had a great run so far, having won all of their four matches. Defending champions, West Indies, are yet to have any win after two matches. This is quite surprising for a country that has won the cup twice, which is the most in history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
