2025 F1 Season Preview

The 2025 season may be two months away from its official start, but there’s already a lot of excitement being pumped during this offseason that gives fans a lot to look forward to. 2024 was spectacular and was, arguably, the best season in a while. 2025 is shaping up to build on that experience with so much to expect.

One big thing all F1 fans and enthusiasts will be watching is how well Lewis Hamilton fits in his new home, Ferrari. The seven-time world champion made headlines before the start of last season after revealing he had signed a deal with the Italian team, signaling that 2024 would be his last season with Mercedes.

Ferrari finished third last season, recording big improvements in their cars. If they can further improve on what they have already, they just might be able to produce a car that can give Hamilton his eighth title.

All eyes will also be on Mercedes to see how they cope without Hamilton, who won six titles while with them. Both Hamilton and Mercedes benefitted from their long collaboration and their first year apart after 12 seasons.

Last year, we witnessed an intense rival involving Red Bull and McLaren, and fans can expect things to get more heated this season. Max Verstappen won a fourth world championship title, but after battling it out with Lando Norris across multiple races. The rivalry between the two resulted in crashes on the track.

While things would have cooled down now, they could quickly get ugly if both teams do not find a way to go about their title race peacefully.

It will also be interesting to see how well Red Bull performs this season without Sergio Perez on the other seat. The team cut ties with Perez after a dismal performance in 2024 that cost them a third consecutive constructor’s title. Taking over Perez’ seat is Liam Lawson, a former reserve driver in Red Bull.

Other teams have also had driver changes, with Kick Sauber replacing both drivers. This shows that teams are doing what they deem necessary to be ready for the new season. Soon, new cars will be announced, and fans will get their first glimpse of the cars that will run on the tracks in 2025.
