Boris Becker feels that Nick Kyrgios has the talent to win the Wimbledon

Some way or the other Australian tennis player, Nick Kyrgios finds himself in the news. It is mainly his antics, comments and actions which land him in the news. However, this time that is not the case.

Kyrgios always remains charged up ahead of the Australian Open as the crowd pushes him a lot to get the best tennis out of him on the court. This time also he played really well. Although Kyrgios had a short journey he entertained his fans with impressive tennis in the third round when he was two sets to nothing up against Dominic Thiem. However the Australian could not kill the game and Thiem scripted one of his best comebacks to knock Kyrgios out in the third round.

However, six-time Grand Slam winner Boris Becker who had a keen eye on the Australian throughout feels that he has seen something special in him. Becker felt that Kyrgios’ attitude and performance was a huge positive, the German also went on saying that the 25-year old can do wonders and can shock the world by winning Wimbledon someday.

The German legend stated, “Nick Kyrgios and I have had our differences but I have to say I was impressed with on-court attitude at this tournament, his five-setter with Dominic Thiem was among the matches of the fortnight. I have always thought that he should win Wimbledon at least once with the huge talent at his disposal.

Becker feels that Kyrgios’ big serve and his ability to anticipate his shot-making will uplift his overall game and it will be good enough for the Australian to perform well in London.

“With that serve and his quick game, there is so much that he could achieve. Whether he does that is going to be down to one person – Nick himself,” added the three-time Wimbledon winner.

Kyrgios delivered one of the best matches of the recently concluded Australian Open where he indeed lost against Dominic Thiem but he showed great tenacity and heart especially as he was coming back in action after a long layoff. The 25-year old last played at Acapulco last year where he had to retire in the second round due to a wrist injury.

However with everything he brings to the table, Nick Kyrgios is very popular among tennis fans and hopefully, they will get to see a lot of him in this new season.
