Jannik Sinner moved past Novak Djokovic in the record books with a straight-sets win over Corentin Moutet at the Miami Open.
The Italian won 6–1, 6–4 in the third round to extend his run to 26 consecutive sets at ATP Masters 1000 level, surpassing Djokovic’s previous mark of 24 sets in 2016.
The result places the 24-year-old alone at the top of the list, continuing a run that has stretched across multiple tournaments on the hard-court swing.
His streak began at the Paris Masters in 2025, where he claimed the title without dropping a set.
Sinner carried that form into Indian Wells, again moving through the draw without losing a set to secure another title.
By the time he arrived in Miami, the run had already placed him within reach of Djokovic’s long-standing record.
A straight-sets win over Damir Dzumhur in the opening round saw him match the 24-set mark, before his victory over Moutet pushed him clear at the top.
Against Moutet, Sinner controlled the match from the start, winning 87 percent of points on his first serve while striking 23 winners.
The Frenchman managed 11 winners in reply, but was unable to disrupt Sinner’s rhythm across either set. The match lasted 71 minutes, with Sinner staying steady throughout.
The streak has been built on managing a consistent serving and controlled baseline play, with none of the matches during this run requiring a deciding set.
Across Paris, Indian Wells, and Miami, Sinner has limited opponents’ chances to shift matches in their favour, keeping control from the early stages.
Djokovic’s record had stood since the 2016 hard-court season and was widely seen as one of the more difficult benchmarks to reach at the Masters 1000 level. Sinner’s run now moves beyond that mark while still early in his career.
He continues his campaign in Miami with the streak intact, where the plan now is to see how far he can extend the run as the tournament progresses.
