Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal congratulate Warriors star Andrew Wiggins as he is all set to feature in the All Star weekend

The current NBA season is heading towards the All-Star weekend. Before at NBA has announced the names of the starters from either conference. Among all the players there was one surprising name that literally shocked the NBA community was Andrew Wiggins. This will be the first time the Warriors man will be taking part in the All Star weekend in his career owing to his superstar like performances this season.

It is tremendous how the 26-year-old has achieved such a big feat so early in his career. He was also declared as the starter for the first time. Therefore the entire NBA community and the experts in the Inside the NBA panel congratulated the Warriors forward. Many legends have also hailed the achievement for the 26-year-old.

During the ‘Inside The NBA’ show on TNT, legends and panellists like Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley have congratulated the Golden State Warriors man Andrew Wiggins. Shaquille O’Neal said, “When you’re such a young talent, they expect you to know how to win. He didn’t know how to win, he was up and down, criticized a lot. But when he went to Golden State, similar to what JaVale McGee did, they taught him how to be a winner. They taught him how to play a certain way, and he’s doing that and I want to congratulate him and his family. Definitely not mad at this.”

Phoenix Suns legends and Inside NBA panellist, Charles Barkley also hailed him as he added, “What they really did was put him in the right spot, he can’t be your best player… People assume when you make the money, automatically, I’m the man,” Barkley added.

Wiggins who was drafted by th Minnesota Timberwolves in 2014 did not have his heart at the franchise. There was the pressure of being the best player of the franchise on Wiggijns shoulders and that affected the youngster. Therefore when the Warriors traded for Andrew Wiggins, he got a new life under Steve Kerr. Charles Barkley also added that moving to the Warriors allowed him to play more freely.

The Golden State Warriors are the only team with two All-Star starters this season. After Curry, Klay and Draymond, Wiggins has now also joined the elite list of Warriors players. Wiggins is finally realising the talent that he already had when he was picked as the first draft pick back in 2014.

Wiggings has been very important for the Warriors this season. The Dubs are second in the Western Conference behind the Phoenix Suns. The Dubs hold a record of 35-13 and are considered as one of the NBA Championship contenders this season.
