Wolves forward Adama Traore could be returning to Barcelona before the end of the January transfer window after Barcelona contacted the Premier League side over a possible loan deal for the Spanish international.
Adama Traore has played eight times for Spain since his debut for the La Roja in 2020, but he broke out from the Camp Nou as a youngster, and Barcelona wants to bring him in with a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Traore left Barcelona for Aston Villa in 2015, and he moved to Middlesbrough where he was till 2017 before moving to the Molineux stadium with Wolves in an £18M deal in 2018.
Despite making over 150 appearances at the Molineux since then, Traore has scored on just 11 occasions.
Tottenham had been interested in the 26-year-old, but the appearance of Barcelona has ended the chances of the Spurs signing the player.
Tottenham had initially made a bid in the region of £15m pound turned down by Wolves last week. Traore’s contract with Wolves will expire in 18 months, and there isn’t an agreement yet on an extension.
Similarly, Barcelona are eyeing Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta on a free transfer at the end of the season. The 32-year-old moved to the Stanford Bridge in 2012, becoming a key part of the team.
However, renewing his contract in the summer is not confirmed but Barcelona wants to take chances.
Since joining from Marseille, Azpilicueta has made over four hundred appearances for the Blues winning the Premier League, and UEFA Champions League among other honours.
Amid Barcelona’s transfer activities, it was also reported on Thursday that the club has told Ousmane Dembele to search for a club before the end of the January transfer window again.
The player’s agent has met Xavi as he wishes to stay while Barcelona wants to cash out on him.
