Former NBA Champion and analyst Kendrick Perkins lauds Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving’s match winning performance against the Milwaukee Bucks

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving came up with big numbers as he guided the Net to a win against the reigning champions Milwaukee Bucks. Former NBA Champions and analyst Kendrick Perkins heaped a lot of praise on the superstar.

The shorthanded Brooklyn Nets defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 126-123, Perkins was ecstatic as he tweeted, “That was one hell of performance by Kyrie Irving tonight. He showed us all why he’s Top 5 skilled player of All-Time! Carry the hell on…”

Kyrie Irving is one of the most skilled point guards in the NBA. He is also among the best scorer in the league currently. But over the last year, his skills on the court have taken a backseat with his ongoing vaccine fiasco. Many NBA analysts have criticised the Nets point guard. But when he is on the court playing for Brooklyn he simply looks like an unstoppable force guiding the Nets.

His layups are just insane and hardly any defender can keep him quiet for a considerable amount of time. Irving dropped a game-high 38 points on 53% shooting from the field while making tough shots all game long. He also came up with five assists and as many rebounds along with two steals in around 40 minutes of gameplay.

The Milwaukee Bucks were exceptional as well as Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday were also massive on the night dropping big numbers. The duo combined for a total of 73 points, 20 assists and 22 rebounds while Bobby Portis also dropped in 30 points and 12 rebounds. But all of that was not enough as Kyrie Irving was simply unstoppable for the Brooklyn Nets.

After James Harden’s trade to the Philadelphia 76ers, Irving got his usual point guard role and that allowed him to explode on the big night. Kevin Durant is still out with an injury and Ben Simmons is not cleared to play, so Irving will lead the lines for the Brooklyn Nets, especially on the scoring front.

The seven-time All-Star is happy to play alongside his teammates and credited them for helping him deliver a game-changing performance against the reigning champions. He spoke at the post-game press conference, “When you’re playing with guys that are coming off the ball, being very selfless, putting their body on the line and thinking the game, it just makes my job a lot easier to lead the offense as best I can as the point guard.”

The Nets were considered one of the favourites to win the NBA championship this season. But they have declined a lot and are currently in 8th position in the Eastern Conference. But with Irving coming back to form and Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons joining in, the Nets are again looking like a force to be reckoned with.
