Former NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins feels LeBron James is the best in the world, despite Steph Curry winning the title this year

LeBron James and Stephen Curry is the height of modern day NBA rivalry which has only helped the league grow in recent years. The two superstars have had many battles in between 2015 to 2018 out of Curry has come out on top a few times more than LeBron. But it was the famous 2016 win courtesy of LeBron James’ heroics that changed the dynamics as he helped his team win a series which they were trailing by 3-1. So it was something really special from the King and that is where most experts feel that he has a slight edge above Curry in terms of leaving the legacy behind in the NBA.

However Curry added another Championship to his name in 2022 as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Boston Celtics in the finals. But even after four titles, former NBA champion and analyst Kendrick Perkins rates LeBron James as the best player in the world.

Perkins shared how LeBron was ruling the league for two decades. He pointed out how LeBron had the limelight even when players like Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan were around. Perkins shared, “It’s just a testament to LeBron. LeBron has been the best player to sit on the throne for almost two decades,” Perkins said. “Even when LeBron was playing when Kobe was around, when Tim Duncan was around, he was still the best player in the world.”

Perkins did point out how Curry has been right on his tail and knocking the door to be the best in the world but LeBron keeps on holding that position even when Stephen Curry has won the Championship and LeBron’s Lakers have failed to reach the playoffs.

It is common notion by now that despite being a legend par excellence, Stephen Curry has completely changed the way the game is perceived. He has made life easier for short guards and made them believe that they can also succeed in the NBA. A lot of players, especially guards from the new generation have followed his game and career graph and have been deeply inspired by the Chef.

He has changed the game completely with his insane long range shooting, something that has been adapted by older players as well as it has become a very important segment in today’s play. Kendrick Perkins also agrees that Stephen Curry has created a revolution of his own and has helped shorter guard like Trae Young to show their game at the NBA level.

“You have to give a guy credit for what he is doing at his size because he has changed the game of basketball forever,” the former NBA champion said. “He has opened doors for guys like Trae Young to come into the NBA and be the best version of themselves,” Perkins concluded.

Chef Curry is the best shooter to ever grace the NBA and his limitless range allows him to unlock different strategies on court. Therefore he has had such success in the last decade and will continue to thrive in the coming years if he manages to keep him healthy.
