He is feeling great – Darvin Ham provides injury update on Anthony Davis before Game 6 against Golden State Warriors

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham has revealed that their big man Anthony Davis is feeling great before the all-important Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals against Golden State Warriors on Friday night.

Davis suffered a blow to his head in Game 5 of the series, which the Dubs won by 121-106 to stay alive in the series and make it 3-2.

“He’s feeling great,” Ham told reporters on a video conference call on Thursday. “Our medical staff gave us a great update.”

Ham confirmed that Davis is not showing signs of anything after he was hit on the head by the opposition’s Kevon Looney. In fact, the talisman was placed in a wheelchair before he was taken to the dressing room to receive medical care from the team’s medical staff.

Davis has been in terrific form as he is averaging 22.4 points on 58.1% shooting, 13.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.4 steals in the ongoing series.

“It’s huge,” Ham said when asked if he felt any relief learning about Davis’ status update. “He’s the centerpiece of what we’re trying to do on both sides of the ball and for us just in general for our success rate. So that was great, great news.”

When Ham was asked about Golden State’s scoring success, “These type of situations you throw a lot of stuff up against the wall, see what sticks,” Ham said. “But we’re not shooting in the dark here.”

Ham revealed that they will back the same plans which have worked for him and his team in the three games they have won in this series.

“We’ll sleep on some things, some suggestions and some ideas that we have and then wake up in the morning ready to make a final decision,” Ham said.

Los Angeles Lakers will host Golden State Warriors on Friday night in Los Angeles in Game 6 of the series.
