Steph Curry is regarded as one of the best three-pointers to have ever graced the game. Curry is just ominous behind the three-point line and he is deadly accurate with his shooting. During the previous season, Curry had become the first NBA player to score 3000 threes in his career.
Currently, Curry has scored 3117 three-pointers in his career with a successful percentage of 43.9. Washington Wizards player Bradley Beal heaped praise on Steph Curry for inspiring the youngsters to attempt more three-point shots.
Beal feels Curry messed up the game but in a good way as he discussed Curry’s positive impact on the game on JJ Redick’s “The Old Man and The Three” podcast.
Beal said, “He messed up the game but in a good way. I think he hurt the youth because the youth just loves threes and that’s all they think about doing is shooting threes. You can just see in the league how we value the 3-point line now. It’s not just something that we just look at as a spacer.
“We value it at all five positions. We need everybody to be able to shoot the 3 because that’s a threat. Spacing the floor, being able to create some more drives for your guards. I think him and Klay Thompson and their whole team just changed the game.”
Earlier, GSW head coach Steve Kerr, who himself ha the highest three-point shooting percentage at 45.4, had given credit to Steph Curry for revolutionizing the sport.
Kerr said: “About seven-straight possessions, these 10-year-old kids launched 3-pointers. I turned to Steph and I said, ‘Steph, this is all your fault.’ All you have to do is look at all the young players coming up. Whether they’re 10 years old, or 21 or 19, coming into the NBA for the first time. Everybody wants to lodge from 3.”
GSW will begin its NBA campaign against the LA Lakers on 19th October.
