It’s a huge win, I couldn’t be more proud of my team, says coach Darvin Ham after win against Golden State Warriors

Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham was delighted after his team defeated reigning champions Golden State Warriors by 109-103 on Saturday night. The Lakers were without the services of LeBron James whereas the Dubs were missing their talisman, Steph Curry.

However, D’Angelo Russell had 15 points, six assists, and five rebounds in his Lakers return after he made a move from Minnesota Timberwolves.

“It was a little weird but I’m trying to normalize it,” said Russell, who also played 33 games for the Warriors during the 2019-20 season. “The sooner the better. I’ve been in this situation. … After that first stint you kind of get comfortable again. When you get traded so many times the irony comes back with all these teams and just kind of normalize it.”

Meanwhile, Dennis Schroder scored 26 points for the Lakers to deliver for his team. Furthermore, Anthony Davis Davis had a double-double of 13 points and 16 rebounds.

“I and D’Lo literally talked the entire game, about pick-and-roll, what he sees, what I see, what he like, what I like … just trying to build that chemistry on the fly, with no practice,” Davis said.

Darvin Ham was happy after his team bagged the crucial win against Steve Kerr’s team.

“It’s a huge win. I couldn’t be more proud of my team,” coach Darvin Ham said.

On the other hand, Jordan Poole scored 29 points and had six assists but his efforts went in vain. The Dubs have lost the last two matches and Kerr feels the team is frustrated after they couldn’t close out these games.

“They’re frustrated we couldn’t close out these last two games,” coach Steve Kerr said. “We just haven’t been able to string together enough wins to create a little momentum and separation in the standings.”

The Lakers will face Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.
