Jonathan Kuminga surprised by Warriors talisman Klay Thompson as they decimate the Dallas Mavericks

Golden State Warriors talisman Klay Thompson has registered his name as one of the superstars in the NBA. He remains as one of the most critical pieces of the puzzle for the Warriors in their NBA Championship quest this season. His accolades with the franchise have made him a fan favourite among the Dubs faithful.

Thompson’s return have strengthened the Warriors as he has now paired up with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green along with other youngsters to form a formidable force. Therefore they are contenders for the Championship this season.

Recently youngster Jonathan Kuminga commented on Klay Thompson’s return from injury. Kuminga who was drafted by the Warriors in 2021 was surprised to see Thompson pass it around after returning from injury.

Kuminga said, “Me growing up watching Klay play basketball, I’ve never really seen him pass the ball the way he did today. So, it was pretty surprising“.

Thompson returned after a long term on the sidelines. He missed the entirety of the 2019-20 season due to an ACL injury and had to undergo surgery. Although he returned in September 2020 but then he sustained another injury and sadly missed the entirety of the 2020-21 season.

However, the Warriors have been exceptional this season as chief coach Steve Kerr has assigned proper roles for his players and they have been brilliant in those areas. Stephen Curry has been the trailblazer for the Warriors but their role players have also been brilliant this season.

A few weeks ago  Warriors talisman Stephen Curry made history as he became NBA’s all time leader of threes made. Recently the Golden State Warriors decimated Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks. It was a collective effort from the players as Kuminga came up with 22 points from the bench to inspire a dominant 130-92 win.

The Golden State Warriors have been sensational this season. They have had a tight battle with the Phoenix Suns for the summit of the Western Conference. But currently, they are second in the Western Conference with a record of 35-13 behind the Phoenix Suns.

While Stephen Curry will be important for the Warriors, a lot will depend on Klay Thompson and the supporting cast of the Warriors to help them propel to the NBA Championship again.
