Luka Doncic Explodes for 52 Points as Lakers Overcome 18-Point Deficit to Beat Utah Jazz

Luka Doncic delivered a sensational 52-point performance as the Los Angeles Lakers fought back from an 18-point deficit to defeat the Utah Jazz 132-123 in an entertaining NBA clash in Salt Lake City on Sunday.

The Slovenian superstar dominated the contest, adding 10 assists and eight rebounds to help the Lakers maintain their unbeaten start to the season with three consecutive victories.

Doncic was particularly dangerous from beyond the arc, converting eight of his 18 three-point attempts. He finished the night shooting 17-of-30 from the field, producing another remarkable individual display.

The performance marked the 10th occasion in Doncic’s regular-season NBA career that he has scored at least 50 points, further underlining his reputation as one of the league’s most explosive offensive players.

However, the Lakers were forced to work hard for their victory after Utah established an 18-point advantage during the second quarter.

Despite the Jazz’s strong start, Los Angeles managed to turn the contest around, with Doncic leading the offensive charge.

Austin Reaves provided valuable support with 29 points, helping the visitors overcome Utah’s early dominance.

The Lakers’ star duo also proved highly effective from the free-throw line, combining to convert 21 of their 24 attempts.

Their scoring contributions were crucial as Los Angeles completed an impressive comeback to extend its winning streak.

Meanwhile, Walker Kessler experienced a difficult return to Utah following his summer trade from the Jazz to the Lakers.

Playing against his former team for the first time since the move, Kessler managed just two points and seven rebounds.

For Utah, Lauri Markkanen led the scoring with 28 points, but his efforts were not enough to prevent the hosts from suffering defeat.

Keyonte George also produced an impressive all-round performance, finishing with 24 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds, narrowly missing out on a triple-double.

Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 20 points, while Ace Bailey recorded a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite having several players deliver strong individual performances, the Jazz were unable to protect their substantial first-half advantage.

The defeat will be particularly disappointing for Utah after it appeared to have gained control of the contest during the second quarter.

For the Lakers, however, the victory highlighted their ability to recover from difficult situations and produce results under pressure.

With Doncic already delivering extraordinary scoring performances and Reaves providing consistent offensive support, Los Angeles has made an encouraging start to its campaign.

The Lakers will now look to build on their perfect 3-0 record, while Utah must address the mistakes that allowed an 18-point lead to slip away.
