Stephen Curry picks the Charlotte Hornets as the team he would play for apart from the Warriors

Stephen Curry recently graduated, got his jersey retired and also got inducted into the Hall of Fame at his college just after a season where he won his fourth NBA Championship and more importantly his first NBA Finals MVP title. He was recently also awarded the key to the city of Charlotte in a ceremony that took place at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center.

Curry has a strong connection with Charlotte as he stayed there for years and also graduated from the Charlotte Christian School. Then his father Dell Curry also played for the Charlotte Hornets for 10 years and all of this has initiated a relationship between Steph and Charlotte.

After receiving the honour, Stephen Curry shared her thoughts on her ties with the city of Charlotte. He shared, “Charlotte is in my blood. It’s in my DNA. I’m so proud. When anybody asks, ‘Where are you from?’ I wasn’t born here, but I am from Charlotte. Best 21 years of my life — spent it here, and I carry it with me everywhere I go.”

Curry was thrown different questions but the one that caught everyone’s attention was when he shared that the Charlotte Hornets would be a franchise he would love to play if the Golden State Warriors were not in the fray. However he shared hown he desires to finish his career with the Dubs. Still he answered the question that he would love to play for the Charlotte Hornets if he gets that opportunity.

“I’ve always said I wanted to finish my career at Golden State because of how much it means to me and the experiences and teammates and the journey that we’ve been on,” Curry shared. “All I would say though is if there was a team that I did want to play for that was not named the Warriors, that would be it (Charlotte Hornets).”

However for now he will be looking forward to the new season as he will be keen to defend the crown for the Golden State Warriors . The offseason has been crazy for some teams as they made a couple of big moves. But only time will tell if the Chef manages to guide the Dubs back to the top defending to the title.
