Jake Paul Knocks Out Tyron Woodley In Sixth Round of Rematch

Jake Paul is slowly making his bones and establishing himself as a fighter to reckon with. On Saturday night, Jake Paul earned a sixth-round victory over former MMA champion Tyron Woodley via a knockout punch in their rematch fight. Woodley, a former UFC Welterweight champion, was knocked out cold by Paul, a YouTuber who is now gaining grounds as a tough boxer. Many have hailed the victory as Jake Paul’s best in his boxing career.

Paul and Woodley met back in August, where Paul won via a split decision. The win came as a surprise as many expected the martial artist with an impressive fight record to have some advantage over Paul, who had only three fights in his record, before their August meeting. But Paul’s performance then was able to impress two of the judges, who gave him the higher score.

In the days leading up to the rematch, Woodley, who entered the fight as a replacement for Tommy Fury, vowed to knock out Paul and promised a defining win. But that did not happen. Instead, it was Woodley who lay flat on the floor, unable to move for some seconds. That was how powerful Paul’s knockout punch was.

The first two rounds of the fight were quite uneventful, and the crowd did not fail to hide their displeasure as the fight generally lacked energy. Woodley was not firing enough punches like he did in the first fight. It was the third round that things began to pick up. It was in that round that Woodley elbow grazed Paul on his forehead, resulting in a cut. This one action earned Woodley cheers from the crowd as people continued to boo Paul.

Woodley, who was gaining the upper hand now, launched an uppercut that sent Paul’s head back. Minutes later, Woodley was fouled after using his shoulder to push Paul to the floor, which was the first time Paul’s back would touch the floor in their fight. The fifth round was very uneventful, but it was the sixth round that the damage was done. Paul found Woodley’s chin and sent a punch that knocked the man out.

Paul remains unbeaten in his professional boxing career, with five wins. Woodley has now lost his two professional boxing fights in the hands of the same man.
