Aaron Ramsdale set for Premier League start for Arsenal

After the international break, club football returns in full gear, and it’s a good time for England and Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who is set to make his first appearance for the Gunners.

It will be his first Premier League match for the Gunners since the 3-1 victory over Manchester United in early September after he was dropped for Spanish goalkeeper David Raya. David Raya joined Arsenal from Brentford on loan before the end of the transfer window.

However, due to a rule and agreement between both clubs, David Raya will not be able to play the game, allowing the England international to take charge.

Raya is not the only player Arsenal will miss for the game, Portuguese midfielder Fabio Viera will miss the game due to suspension. Viera was red-carded in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Burnley before the international break.

Viera had been linked to an exit from the Emirates stadium as he has found playing time hard to come by. The 23-year-old has only played 8 Premier League games this season, mainly on the bench.

Meanwhile, French Ligue 1 clubs have been monitoring the situation of the player, with Marseille among the interested clubs.

However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said he is happy to have the player in the squad as he continues to improve and mature.

“We knew that Fabio would have a big impact, especially in the last few minutes or final minutes if we needed something. Something has changed with Fabio, you notice with the crowd when he steps in, he is different to how he was last year. He’s more mature, he’s more senior in the squad, and his confidence in the squad is high, so I’m really happy to have those options.” Arteta added.

Arsenal will travel to Brentford on Saturday and can top the table if the first Premier League game of the day between Manchester City and Liverpool ends in a draw.
