Arsenal hold Bayern Munich to a thrilling 2-2 draw in Champions League clash

Arsenal secured a valuable 2-2 draw away to Bayern Munich in an entertaining UEFA Champions League encounter, with Declan Rice scoring a late equalizer to ensure the Gunners left Germany with a point.

Before the goals, Arsenal suffered a major injury blow when Bukayo Saka was substituted barely ten minutes in. Eberechi Eze replaced him immediately.

Arsenal then took the lead through Eberechi Eze, who found the net 25 minutes in after a pass from Martin Odegaard.

The visitors capitalized on their chances to put Bayern under pressure, but the German champions responded strongly, keeping the Gunners from establishing a comfortable lead.

Bayern restored parity ten minutes later when Alphonso Davies scored, bringing the hosts back into the contest.

The home side subsequently took the lead in the second half when England captain Harry Kane converted a penalty, putting Bayern in a strong position to claim all three points in front of their supporters.

However, Arsenal refused to surrender and continued pushing for another goal. Their persistence paid off when Rice found the net to level at 2-2, rescuing a point for Mikel Arteta’s side and ensuring both teams shared the spoils.

Arsenal’s late push for a winner was thwarted when Jurrien Timber forced Manuel Neuer into a top save.

The Gunners host Everton next weekend in the Premier League, while Bayern Munich travel to Freiburg for their Bundesliga tie.

The draw represents an important result for Arsenal as they continue their Champions League campaign against elite European opposition.

Although the Gunners will be disappointed not to have secured a victory after taking the lead, their comeback demonstrated resilience and attacking determination against a formidable Bayern Munich side.
