Arsenal are all set to sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid in a deal worth €35 million that brings the 22-year-old back to the Gunners.
He had a six-month loan spell with Arsenal last season where he scored two goals in 20 overall appearances.
Of those appearances, fans will remember his two-goal performance vs Tottenham in the north London Derby back in March.
Reports indicated he will have to complete a medical later this week to potentially be ready for the upcoming Arsenal-Chelsea match this weekend. There’s also the aspect of securing a visa in time.
Arsenal have been fairly active recently in terms of player movement. They agreed to a deal with Sheffield United for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. Odegaard originally joined Real Madrid in 2015 as a 17-year-old prospect. Since then, though, he has only made eight league appearances for Real.
On the international side, he debuted for Norway back in 2014 and has gone on to win 30 caps for the country since then.
