Barcelona to send summer signing on loan due to financial struggles

Barcelona’s financial fair play struggles have once again come to the fore, with the futures of several new signings now in doubt.

Among those affected is 19-year-old Swedish winger Roony Bardghji, who only joined from Copenhagen this summer but could already be facing the prospect of leaving the club on loan.

The La Liga champions are still unable to register Bardghji, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, and defender Gerard Martin due to league restrictions.

While there is optimism that solutions can be found for Szczesny and Martin, Bardghji’s situation is far more complicated, raising fresh uncertainty about his role in the squad this season.

According to reports in Spain, Hansi Flick has grown increasingly frustrated with the delays. The German coach had hoped to integrate his new signings quickly, but administrative hurdles have forced him into unwanted tactical compromises.

Sources close to the club suggest that Bardghji could be loaned back to Copenhagen if Barca fail to create enough financial space.

The outlook for Martin is comparatively straightforward, as his registration is expected to be finalised once Oriol Romeu’s contract termination is completed.

Szczesny’s case depends on Inaki Pena agreeing to a loan move away, which would reduce the wage bill and allow the former Juventus goalkeeper to be added to the squad list.

Bardghji’s case, however, requires Barcelona to either generate fresh income or sanction an unexpected sale. The young winger, who was signed with long-term development in mind, has reportedly assured Flick he does not want to leave, but the club are running out of options with the transfer window closing in a matter of days.

For Barcelona, the coming week will be decisive. The Spanish champions face Rayo Vallecano on August 31, but whether Flick will have his full squad available remains unclear.

Unless swift progress is made off the pitch, the club risk starting the season short-handed, with their highly anticipated signings forced to wait on the sidelines.
